چکیده
Abstract Background Self-emulsifying drug delivery systems (SEDDSs) have attracted attention because of their effects on solubility and bioavailability lipophilic compounds. Herein, a SEDDS loaded with lycopene purified from red guava (nanoLPG) was produced. The nanoemulsion characterized using dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential measurement, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), content quantification, radical scavenging activity colloidal stability in cell culture medium. Then, vivo toxicity tissue distribution orally treated mice cytotoxicity human prostate carcinoma cells (DU-145) peripheral blood mononuclear (PBMC) were evaluated. Results NanoLPG exhibited physicochemical properties size around 200 nm, negative zeta-potential, spherical morphology. size, polydispersity index, parameters suffered insignificant alterations during the 12 month storage at 5 °C, which associated °C for 10 months. showed partial aggregation medium 37 after 24 h. 0.10 mg/mL equivalent to 0.043 ± 0.002 mg Trolox/mL. studies did not reveal any significant changes clinical, behavioral, hematological, biochemical, histopathological nanoLPG mg/kg 28 days. In addition, successfully delivered liver, kidney mice, improved its against DU-145 cancer cells—probably by pathway independent classical necrosis apoptosis—and affect PBMC viability. Conclusions Thus, stands as promising biosafe system further development nanotechnology-based health products. Graphical

متن کاملCarotenoids from guava (Psidium guajava l.): isolation and structure elucidation.
Sixteen carotenoids were isolated from the flesh of Brazilian red guavas (Psidium guajava L.). Their structures were established by means of UV-visible, 400 and 500 MHz (1)H NMR, 120 and 125 MHz (13)C NMR, mass, and circular dichroism spectra. The carotenoids were identified as phytofluene, (all-E)-, (9Z)-, (13Z)-, and (15Z)-beta-carotene, (all-E)-gamma-carotene, (all-E)-, (9Z)-, (13Z)-, and (1...

متن کاملIsolation of antimicrobial compounds from guava (Psidium guajava L.) and their structural elucidation.
Four antibacterial compounds were isolated from leaves of guava (Psidium guajava L.), and the structures of these compounds were established on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence. Two new flavonoid glycosides, morin-3-O-alpha-L-lyxopyranoside and morin-3-O-alpha-L-arabopyranoside, and two known flavonoids, guaijavarin and quercetin, were identified. The minimum inhibition concentr...
متن کاملCharacterization of volatile compounds in guava (Psidium guajava L.) varieties from Colombia
The guava (Psidium guajava L.), which has unique and quince-banana like flavor, is an economically important subtropical fruit in many tropical countries on all seasons. Volatile constituents from three Colombian varieties of guava fruits: Coronilla (commonly named guayaba común), Palmira ICA-1 (commonly named guayaba pera) and Glum Sali (commonly named guayaba manzana) were isolated by headspa...
